SEC Championship Game: 1 LSU (12-0, 8-0 SEC) vs. 14 Georgia (10-2, 7-1 SEC)
The SEC title and an automatic BCS bowl berth await the winner of this matchup. If LSU wins, they are locked into the top spot heading into the BCS National Championship Game. If LSU loses........they are probably still headed to New Orleans for the title game. LSU is one of two undefeated teams remaining (Houston), and the Georgia Bulldogs are on a roll having won ten in a row after opening the season with two losses to Boise State and South Carolina. For most of the season, I was not sold on Georgia and actually felt them to be a bit overrated. However, my feelings have changed. Georgia's defense has played consistently as of late, and the offense has been solid as well with Aaron Murray and Isaiah Crowell. I give the Bulldogs the edge over LSU offensively. I also give Georgia a SLIGHT edge due to the game being played in Atlanta. LSU obviously gets the edge in defense, special teams, and coaching (how can you pick against Les Miles?). This is going to be very interesting, and I think Georgia will give LSU its biggest test of the season outside of its game in Tuscaloosa. The future looks very bright for Georgia, and an SEC championship this season would give the program unbelievable momentum going forward. I still like LSU by two possessions in the end though.
